How to film your packing with a webcam
OrderKrab can record every Pick and Pack fulfillment with the webcam of the packing computer. The video lands on the order page with a timeline of what happened - each scan, each confirmation, each sealed shipment - so a "the parcel was missing an item" claim can be checked in seconds. Videos are kept for 30 days.
- 1
Switch filming on for the organization. Go to Settings → General, find Film fulfillments under Pick-and-Pack settings and set it to Enabled.
- 2
Pick the camera on each packing computer. Go to Settings → Printer setup and find the Packing camera card. Choose the Camera (or keep Default camera) and click Allow camera and test - the browser asks for camera permission the first time, and a live preview confirms the webcam works. The choice is saved on that computer only.
- 3
Pack as usual. During a Pick and Pack session a red REC badge in the top bar shows the order is being filmed. If the camera can't be opened you'll see Camera off instead - packing continues without a video.
- 4
Watch a video. Open the order and find the Packing video card - it shows Available until the expiry date and a snapshot of the open box at completion. Click Open. The Timeline lists every event - item ×2 scanned, confirmed by hand, Shipment 1 packed, label scanned, Order completed - and clicking a time jumps the video there.
Good to know
- Videos are kept for 30 days from the fulfillment, then deleted.
- An order that takes more than 10 minutes to pack is not recorded - the badge reads Not recording: over 10 min and the next order records normally.
- Recording needs a recent Chrome, Edge or Safari; the camera card says so if the browser can't record video.
- The timeline also records scanning mistakes - an unknown barcode, a label scanned too early, a wrong label - which is exactly what makes the video useful in a dispute.
