How to edit checkout shipping rates and preview your checkout
The Checkout tab shows the shipping zones and rates your store's checkout offers - your own store rates and OrderKrab's side by side - and lets you edit them without leaving OrderKrab. Every change is written straight to your store. On Shopify, a live preview shows what a buyer at a given address would see.
- 1
Go to Shipping → Checkout. With several stores, pick one in the store selector under the title; Refresh re-reads its zones and rates.
- 2
Your store's shipping profiles lists every zone with its countries and rates. For each rate you see the Checkout name, the Price (Calculated at checkout for carrier-calculated rates such as OrderKrab's), the Condition, and the Carrier service - the OrderKrab carrier and method a shipping rule assigns to orders placed with that rate.
- 3
Click Edit on a rate to change it, or its trash icon to delete it from the store - confirm with Remove and save, and shoppers stop seeing it right away.
- 4
Click Add rate on a zone to create a new flat rate in it.
Select your store platform
- 5
In the rate window, set the Checkout name (exactly what shoppers see), Price, Free shipping from, Transit from (days) and Transit to (days), and an optional Description. Visible at checkout hides a rate without deleting it. Click Save to Shopify - or Create in Shopify for a new rate.
- 6
Check the result in Live checkout preview on the right. Enter an address - Deliver to, Postal code, City - plus an Order total and a Weight. The Shipping method list shows the rates a buyer would get, in checkout order, with the cheapest preselected as in Shopify. Rates that wouldn't be offered are listed under Not shown for this address and cart, each with the reason - for example order under … or no OrderKrab rate for this address.
- 5
WooCommerce flat rates carry a name and a price, so a new rate needs only a Checkout name and a Price; editing one also offers Visible at checkout. Save the window and the change goes straight to your WooCommerce zone.
- 6
Zones and other shipping methods are created in WooCommerce (WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping) - Open shipping settings in WooCommerce takes you there, and Open plugin settings opens the OrderKrab plugin. Click Refresh afterwards.
Good to know
- Rates with price tiers are marked Tiered. Their name, description and free-shipping threshold can be edited here, but the tiers themselves only in the Shopify admin. Carrier-calculated rates - OrderKrab's and other apps' - can only be shown or hidden.
- New zones are created in the Shopify admin (Settings → Shipping and delivery) - Open shipping settings in Shopify takes you there. Click Refresh afterwards and the zone appears with an empty rate list.
- If your store uses Shopify's market-driven shipping, a banner says so and the rates can't be edited here - edit them in the Shopify admin. The preview then notes that its rates may be outdated.
- Product-specific shipping profiles aren't previewed, and rates that other apps calculate at checkout aren't priced - both are noted under the list.
- Previews run the real rate engine, so they are rate-limited. After many in a row you'll see Too many previews in a row - give it a minute and try again.
- On the Delivery map, Preview checkout for … under a country's panel opens this tab with the preview set to that country.
- Carrier service comes from your Auto-Assign shipping rules: a rule whose shipping text matches the rate's name shows its carrier and method; OrderKrab's own rate reads Auto (OrderKrab rate). Not mapped means orders placed with that rate won't get a carrier automatically - add a rule for it on the Delivery map.
- A banner warns when OrderKrab's rate isn't in any of the store's zones - then no OrderKrab shipping method appears at checkout.
- Deleting a rate removes it from your store, not just from OrderKrab.
- The same tab holds Checkout controls (under the profiles) and Carrier order in Checkout (right column) - see the related guides.
