99 step-by-step tutorials covering every button and workflow - from your first order to advanced shipping automation.

How to fix WooCommerce refusing OrderKrab's API key

OrderKrab reads your WooCommerce shipping zones through the WooCommerce REST API, with an API key the OrderKrab for WooCommerce plugin created when you connected the store. When WooCommerce refuses that key, Shipping → Checkout shows the warning WooCommerce isn't letting OrderKrab read your shipping zones, and its View guide button leads here. Orders and your OrderKrab delivery settings keep working while this is broken - only the WooCommerce shipping zones can't be shown or edited in OrderKrab until the store accepts the key again.

  1. 1

In your WordPress admin, open WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API and check that a key called OrderKrab Integration is listed with Read/Write permissions. Then open Users and check that the key's user, orderkrab-integration, still exists.

  2. 2

If the key or the user is missing, delete the OrderKrab for WooCommerce plugin under Plugins, install it again and connect it to OrderKrab as in how to connect your WooCommerce store. Connecting creates a new key and its user.

  3. 3

If both are there, the most common cause is a security plugin, a firewall, a CDN or your host's own protection blocking OrderKrab's requests. Follow how to allow OrderKrab through a WordPress firewall or security plugin - it also covers a proxy or CDN that hides HTTPS from WordPress or strips the Authorization header, which makes WooCommerce treat OrderKrab as anonymous.

  4. 4

Back in OrderKrab, open Shipping → Checkout and click Refresh. The warning disappears as soon as your store answers, and your WooCommerce zones and rates are listed again.

Good to know

  • The same warning shows as a small amber triangle next to the Delivery map title on the Delivery tab - hover it for the message. It goes away together with the banner.
  • Your Delivery map settings - which methods are on in each country and what buyers pay - are stored in OrderKrab and stay as they are. What's missing is only the store's own zones and rates, which the Checkout tab reads straight from WooCommerce.
