Why we use 1%
Typical for warehouses that do not scan every item
Published figures for online fulfillment put packing error rates between 0.5% and 2% in warehouses that pick by eye or on paper. We use 1%, which is the careful middle. Our own customer data shows the same range before they start scanning every item.

- With OrderKrab Pick & Pack — < 0.05% (item-level scan blocks the order from completing if the box contents don't match)
These costs are based on EU warehouse wages in 2024 and 2025 (about €18 per hour in total), local carrier prices for sending a parcel again (about €3 each way), and published figures for what fixing a packing mistake costs online stores. Adjust them to your own numbers.
These numbers are careful ones. They leave out the costs that are harder to measure: stock written off when an item cannot be recovered, customers who leave after a wrong parcel, and the damage to your reputation when a client's problem starts in your warehouse. Pick & Pack with scanning stops the order from being finished until every item in the box matches the order, so the mistake never happens instead of being caught later.
